Recognise cues → Analyse cues → Prioritise hypotheses → Generate solutions → Take action → Evaluate outcomes. Each NGN type maps to subsets of these skills — practise them in context on SGrade NCLEX-RN.
How many questions is the NCLEX-RN?
CAT delivers 85–150 scored items for RN candidates. The algorithm stops at 95% confidence for pass or fail relative to the passing standard.
What happens if I get 85 questions?
The exam can end at 85 when the estimate of your ability is decisive. It does not signal pass or fail by itself.
What are the 6 NGN question types?
Extended Multiple Response, Drop-Down Cloze, Drag-and-Drop, Matrix Grid, Trend (Bow-Tie), and Extended Drag-and-Drop.
How long do I have for NCLEX-RN?
Up to five hours with optional breaks; optional 10-minute break near midpoint.
What is the passing standard for NCLEX-RN?
The Next Generation NCLEX Passing Standard reflects minimally competent entry-level nursing judgement.
How soon do I get NCLEX-RN results?
Quick Results may appear in ~48 hours (US, fee). Official results follow from your board.
Can I retake NCLEX-RN if I fail?

What is the NGN and how is it different?
April 2023 launch added clinical judgement measurement via new item types mapped to NCJMM.
